In Real Life (IRL): Saint Patrick’s Day – Julep Peridot (Betsey) Nail Polish

  • In Real Life is a series we have on the blog that were we show subscription box items in uhhh… well… real life as it were! I mean it is one thing to see items when they are in a review, and a whole other to how everyone else is using the very same items. Hopefully these posts will inspire you to dust off your stash and use some of the items that you might have even forgot you had!

In honor of Saint Patrick’s Day I present my holiday nails!

I bought this as a free add on for a mystery box. My birthday is in August so I naturally went for my birthday color. Turns out it works out for a holiday as well! Yay! The color is:ย Julep Peridot (Betsey)

I WISH someone would try to pinch me today because it will be ON!

Fun nails – so pretty! I’m an August birthday too. ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t have any cool St. Patrick’s Day plans either… but I’m wearing a green sweater.

I never really cared to go out and drink green beer. Though Irish carbombs are yum yum yum

That looks like a duochrome. Very pretty love duochromes. Great post idea! I hope I will be able to do my nails today you are motivating me ๐Ÿ™‚

Not doing much celebrating here probably going to glitter tattoo shamrocks on my two older Pnut people. They might be freaked out if I put green food dye in the toilet. My husband will freak out if I feed them green dye poo and they poop green (because he forgot the time I told him the girls ate flourescent green christmas wreath cookies from our neighbors and freaked out over flourescent green poop). Maybe I will make beer bread with some green dye and make bread pudding the next morning. That would be overachieving (even though the beer bread is add beer and I just dump ingrediants for the bread pudding in the pan with leftovers, stir and toss back in the oven).

      Food not poo :/

Beer bread overcooked but somewhat edible. The inside has green strains. Maybe I will dump the ingrediants for bread pudding overnight and have the dryness corrected.
Noted the color dye packaging claims It colors eggs. Plan to boil eggs later since I just finnished the two egg yolks Pipsqueak hardly ate for breakfast. #cholesterolanyone
        *definately overachieving today*

LOL you are THE woman! I put on green nails and a green work outfit and felt like I was QUEEN of the holiday. I would go out tonight but tomorrow I have to go get Botox’d and work. Shhhhhhhhhhhh IT IS A SECRET

          • March 17, 2016 at 7:13 pm

Ahhh the day is nearly ended and my nails are not done and the eggs are not baked (I bake them now for some reason its easier for me).

At least I will get to start the bread pudding tonight. And some more blogging.

I think you need to post pics of your bread pudding… like…. quick snapshot of what I just made for eating kinda thing. You could link the recipe or provide it, and do pics of making it or just the final pic. I want some damn bread pudding!!!!!!

AllRecipes is the recipe. The easiest/laziest one is it.

I need to quote Bunmi Latidan (of Honest Toddler) next time I show a food p@rn picture. The mother of three proclaims “I made a beautiful dinner. I can’t wait to hear whats wrong with it!”

I digress, Pipsqueak helped make snack today. She ate the nachos as I told her to make a layer, she ate some refried beans and black beans I added, she ate the shredded cheese she sprinkled and the ground beef I topped the nachos with. Then she would not touch it when it came out of the oven. More for everyone else then ๐Ÿ˜‰

        Food into poo

Love the green nails! I’m just reading today and living vicariously through y’all!

You are so sweet! I feel like I will get into better trouble soon but tonight I am all cozy… Maybe we will get reports of awesome!

I am probably not doing anything at all. Maybe we will eat broccoli for dinner? (lame!) We didn’t even dress Gabe in green to go to school! I’m the woooorst. I am eating a reuben for lunch though, so that totally counts, right? Happy St. Patty’s Day!

    • March 17, 2016 at 7:14 pm

TOTALLY counts!!! My bother in law is Irish and he goes ALL out for the holiday. I just feel I dont need a reason to drink other than the fact that it is there lol love the green ideas.!!!!

    • March 17, 2016 at 7:16 pm

Ooohhh Sarah I was thinking I should have made brocolli that sounded like a great idea but did not go through with it. However, my husband made guacamole and that’s green! If that is your Gabe in your avator he is a cutie!

Just putting the corned beef on the stove!!! YUMMMMERS and rocking my horse shoe necklace from the FFF welcome box that I got at 50% off! (it was the one time I purchased from them breaking my own code and paying their $8 for shipping!)

    • March 17, 2016 at 7:05 pm

My dad loves corn beef. I never did. I wonder what I would think now as an adult. too bad I don’t dig on bovine or swine. I have a few horseshoe items because it reminds me of my dad. I think we should all have an item like that. It to me? It is the tailsman!

      • March 17, 2016 at 7:18 pm

I liked canned corned beef not the real stuff. I think it is a pinoy thing making canned corned beef with cabbage (with other ingrediants such as potatoes, tomatoes, onion, scrambled eggs, etc.) on top of rice. Mmmmmmm… this may be tomorrow’s dinner.

        • March 17, 2016 at 7:41 pm

Before I ate meat I loves chicken adobo and all the yummmmmmy. I actually have a good portion of white trash and used to LOVE spam. To me it was a treat I would have to beg for since people seem to act too good for it. Even as I type my veggie mouth waters at the thought of fried spam… corned beef I just don’t know what happened. I hated it.

          • March 17, 2016 at 8:03 pm

Have you tried Spam musubi? It’s the most common Spam recipe I make nowerdays! Spam is an Hawaiian delicacy.

Chicken adobo is pretty tasty too! I think maybe you can substitute tofu my husband prefers pork adobo.

          • April 5, 2016 at 5:01 pm

I have! I LOVED it. But my family didn’t get it which really was weird. SO GOOD!!! I had a lot of Pinay (sp?) friends growing up and we would GRUB on that food so hard!!! I never had pork adobo. Unless I did and was told it was chicken… hmmmm…. I want some now

  6. March 18, 2016 at 11:18 am

Whaaat I didn’t even think to make anything, and now I definitely need a reuben or corned beef. I’m a tiny bit Irish, but I’ve never been into dressing up or anything.

An elderly woman held a door open for me yesterday than made a crack about how happy she was to see another person not wearing green. I love little old ladies with a good sense of humor =D
