Birchbox March 2016

The Box: Ladies First

Some boxes are “Bella first” apparently…

Birchbox March 2016

I love the colors of this box!!

Birchbox March 2016

Curl Keeper by Curly Hair Solutions, Original Curl Keeper: 1oz sample, full size 8 oz for $17.50. “When you dampen your hair, the serum kicks back in to smooth down unruly strands.

I think this might be the first acknowledgement of my curly hair in the almost two years that I’ve had Birchbox! That’s sad… but I was excited to try this. It’s a thin gel, but seems to do okay. I do like that it can be wetted to reactivate because I only wash my hair once or twice per week.

Birchbox March 2016

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Brightening Illuminator: 0.04 oz sample, 0.11 oz for $28. “This velvety highlighter works for all skin tones, delivering a subtle sheen that lights up your features

I don’t usually keep highlighters, but I decided to try this one because it had an info card! I actually really liked it. I used it in Vegas when I used my false lashes, and thought it gave my skin a nice highlight. Not for my everyday use, but I’ll definitely try it with my beauty blender next time!

Birchbox March 2016

JUARA Radiance Enzyme Scrub: 0.27 oz sample, 2.5 oz full size for $38. “This formula uses a blend of bamboo and jojoba beads to gently exfoliate, and taps cinnamon, apple enzyme, and other botanicals to smooth skin and purify pores.

I haven’t used this yet since I have a lot of scrubs, but it sounds nice!

Birchbox March 2016

trèStiQue Color & Smudge Shadow Crayon in Aspen Pine: $26 for full size. “12 hour creamy smudge crayon.

This isn’t a color I would have purchased, though I think I look nice in greens, but I do kinda like it. The aspen pine is a bit darker than I prefer, so I used my Clinique chubby highlighter crayon to mute it a bit.

Birchbox March 2016

Highlighter on top by the cat scratch, and aspen pine on the bottom. The middle picture looks like a bruise, and the last picture is me trying to sport aspen pine eyes.

Birchbox March 2016

Wilma Schumann Skincare Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads: 1 pair of pads included, 5 pairs of pads for $18.

Birchbox March 2016

These pads felt cool like when you pour a bunch of Elmer’s glue on your skin and let it dry. But they burned like crazy! I was not a fan =(

Birchbox March 2016

Verdict: Wow, this was a good box!! I kept everything and will use it all. The highlighter was probably my favorite, and I look forward to trying the Juara scrub.

Did anyone else’s face burn from the eye pads or is my skin too sensitive?

No, the pads felt nice on my eyes. Though I didn’t notice any difference from using them.

Jen I didn’t notice any difference either. I actually noticed my eyes were darker than usual after using these and another product, but I was also quite tired that week!

No. I think that is the same undereye pads what I got in my BB. You might be using a product (e.g., retinol) that causes stinging. Sometimes that happens sometimes re-using a product and I know its from something I used recently. But the elmers glue was spot on. Not that I tried but I think you nailed it the feeling lol. It felt nice for me but not sure whether it worked other than I felt pampered.

Otherwise, minus that eyeshadow in a stick, it looks like a great BB!

Great review and beautiful eyes! 2 curly hair products in 2 boxes hooray! Love the pics!

I wasn’t a fan of the i pads either. I had a bunch of boxed wine on my business trip (because I packed it to not show everyone my heavy self medication ‘natch) and couldn’t figure them out. So much for a spa foil night lol

great review and sorry it took me forever to comment but time has no hold over my heart of hands…

I loved the eye pads.Your box looks great. BB is soooo slow in acknowledging people have curly/wavy hair.

Did they ever really send you anything for your hair??

Boo. Other than the Uncle Funky’s Daughter product I got in Essence, the only good hair product that I’ve loved from BB had a blonde wavy haired woman on it! I was shocked and amazed that it worked in my hair after years of sadness accidentally using my mom’s blonde hair products =D
