So everyone that reads Subscriptionista.com knows by now; I take my packaging very seriously. So when I bought an Limited Edition beauty offer from Joyus that was posted in several blogs (similar to Net-A-Porter Limited Edition boxes), I immediately ordered one because of the luxe items (check), three pouches (triple check) with a great value (trifecta check)!
Joyus NEEDS to offer more Limited Edition beauty promos!
One of the items in the Limited Edition Joyus was an Aromaflage sample. I have seen Aromaflage samples in subscription box reviews but they were few in between. I squirreled away my Aromaflage sample for later use. That is, I forgot as it was in my nice pile of perfume samples saved-from-scenting-my-trash-bin. Months later I moved and started reorganizing and found it. I tried to spray it but the top was busted.
I do not think I manhandle my perfume samples!
I was bummed about the busted Aromaflage sample so I sent an email to see whether I could get a replacement. One of the co-owners (of a husband and wife team) was gracious enough to send a replacement. During that time I noticed under his name was a new fragrance “sleep” and upon looking at the website further I realized that they welcomed boutique bloggers (hello!) so I made an inquiry whether I could sample the three scents Aromaflage offered. And just like that, I had three samples sent my way.
First, was the Aromaflage Sleep sample. You can see by the custom sticker that this was made just for me as there are no samples available on the website. Unfortunately, the sample was clogged. I was only able to get a little spray. I tried to unclog it but I was able to get a little more of the sample before it stopped putting out. It was definitely majorly clogged from my 80s Jerseygirl dealings with hairspray. I was offered a small discount to purchase further items but it was not high enough for me to bite. If a product sample did not function, why should I buy a full size to be more disappointed?
I like my samples to put out.
In any event, I took some pliers and opened the sample, then poured it on my pillow. I really liked it. That sounded dirty. I assure you sleep was on my mind that Saturday night! I found Aromaflage Sleep was a very light lavender fragrance. I think the rose melted with vanilla. I am picky about vanilla in fragrances but I love this mix. I am not sure whether it did as much as a diffuser or any of the lavender body oils (see here for a classic sleepy Sparking Joy item . . . and OMG read the comments to see an awesome throwback video link from Onderria). I digress, the packaging of Aromaflage full sizes are very luxe.
I must manhandle my fragrance samples!
Second was their original fragrance, Aromaflage. Aromaflage is a dual unisex fragrance and insect repellent that is natural for people over three years of age. I love this fragrance from the top notes to the dry down. Another fragrance that contains vanilla but I love it regardless!
I wish there was a way for me to rave about Aromaflage and use the word Chikungunya in the same sentence in the mid-west!
Third was their more sensual fragrance, Aromaflage Wild. Like its sister, Aromaflage Wild is a dual fragrance and insect repellent. Both fragrances are marketed as unisex and the top notes scream “fancy fragrance for men” but as top notes faded, a warm sensual fragrance emerged.
This packaging and the words “Live life wild … ” makes me feel like I am in a tropical jungle hidden amid a concrete jungle in my imaginary daydreams.
Verdict: For a natural luxe insect repellant, I would recommend Aromaflage year-round for ladies and children (especially for buggy evenings). I would recommend Aromaflage Wild for men year-round and for ladies during the fall and winter seasons. I could not form a recommendtion for Aromaflage Sleep based on the sample given. I hope that Aromaflage comtinues to be in subscription boxes as a new find and must-have.
What do you think of a fragrance that duals as a bug repellant? What dual use items do you love?

Disclaimer: Sample(s) were given to be as a replacement and for my honest review.
I like multitasking items, so a spray that repels bugs and attracts humans is intriguing.
Great review, Pnut, thank you.
Vanilla belongs in baked goods, not fragrance.
Kelly!!! XOXO

Mwah to you and the itty-bitty Islanders.
Well reading your review, led me to the Joyus site, where I ordered the current LE beauty bag.
