Subscription: Hamptons Lane
Cost: $47/month, with options to skip, go bimonthly, or pause!
What to Expect: “Curated artisan ingredients, handy kitchen tools, with unique recipes delivered in a monthly themed box.”
This box debuted in April, but I ordered it at the beginning of May and got it right before I had finals and a vacation, so we haven’t gotten to use it yet! We actually threw the ingredients in the cabinets and the dishes in the dishwasher and ran off to the airport. I’ll review the pizza-fest later when we have time to make some mini pizzas.
THERE WILL BE CHEESE!
The Box: Pizza
I ordered this box for McBoyfriend. It was supposed to be a birthday present, but his birthday isn’t till July and I COULDN’T WAIT!!! He is obsessed with pizza. Me, Judge Judy, and pizza are in a contest for #1 spot in his heart.
I’m sure he dreams about me dressing up as a Judge Judy pizza delivery person.
It arrived in a plain cardboard box, which was a very lackluster presentation, I’m assuming because of the size of the contents because I believe some of Subista’s and Mailbox Junkie’s boxes were blue.
Pizza Peel from Epicurean: $30.00. “Made with a food-safe resin and the same material as Epicurean cutting boards, there is no need to transfer before serving, just slice directly on the peel and serve.”
Pnut highly recommended this brand, so I was even more excited to try it! I saw a similar, larger piece in Target for $35. We’ve used it a few times, and like it!
Pizza Cutter from Epicurean: $20.00. “Made of 100% wood fiber – the same used to make skate parks.”
Last Christmas the boyfriend asked for a new pizza cutter, got two as presents and bought himself one. This one, however, is WAY cooler! Plus he used to skateboard, so I’m sure he’ll like that he can cut pizza with a piece of a skateboard park.
We did end up using this the other night on a semi-homemade pizza, and it didn’t cut the middle part of the pizza very well, so he had to grab the wheel cutter to get the tips.
All-natural Pizza Sauce from Scarpetta: $10.00 for 15.8oz
I balk at paying more than $5 for pizza/pasta sauce, unless it’s Mezzetta. Also I don’t usually like red sauce on pizza, I’m more of a garlic and olive oil or white sauce. Bf likes anything though.
BUT IT’S FOOD SO I WILL EAT IT!
Napoli Antimo Caputo, The Chef’s Flour: $7 for 1.2lbs on Amazon, or $17 for a 10 pack.
Pizza Spices from RawSpiceBar: $7, 0.3oz
I bought my mom a 6 month subscription to RawSpiceBar last Mother’s Day, and she liked it okay but many of the packets were too spicy for her. I’m looking forward to trying this though.
Red Star Active Dry Yeast: $2.50
This was in the bottom of the box with no label. I was confused and thought it was just a stay-fresh pack, but then I figured out it must be yeast.
Verdict: We really enjoyed this box! I feel bad, but I got the one box then had to put it on pause to cut back on budget things… but this is a box I believe I will subscribe to more once I get my life back on track. I really like having cooking encouragement, and the boy likes the pizza. He will eat pretty much any kind of pizza too, and his most disgusting creation was hotdog pizza =(

Your review made me hungry for cheesy, cheesy pizza! I’ve never seen a pizza cutter like that, but it’s unfortunate that it can’t do it’s primary job that well. I wonder if it can cut other things?
Elizabeth I’ll try and get back to you! Hah, I hadn’t thought about that…
I knew I liked your bf! Hotdogs pizza sounds amazing
I second the hotdog comment. One of these days I will have to try out Scarpetta. The Epicurean items look lovely and oh so fancy I am glad you are enjoying them!
Pnut and MBJ you are both disowned haha. One of my favorite pizzas ever was from this pizza place when I was in college, and they had Mac ‘n Cheese Pizza!!! SOOO good. I like Zeek’s and Pagliacci, but those are both local Seattle area pizza places. Otherwise, Papa Murphy’s has a Thai Chicken take and bake pizza that we <3<3<3
I got the pizza box and the taco party box but have yet to use either of them. I’m going to try to make my own tortillas later this week!
Taco Pizza!!! I made tortillas once. It was fun and frustrating… frunstrating… Let me know how it goes! We also made tamales, which was also fun but I did not really like them.
Taco pizza is my second favorite to just an original NY style slice.
I am very picky about tamales they need to have steller praise for me to try. Generally with most foods I will give it a shot but tamales need word of mouth reccomendation. I take my tamale injestion very seriously as you can tell.
I think Pizza is truly the food of Kings!!!
Then I dub the Queen Wineza or Pizzine… wine pizza? wine + pizza… What is your favorite pizza? Topped with cat hair, naturally. Perhaps even get fancy and sprinkle some catnip on that.
This is all true and I am honored
