So Choix First Peek!

I lift up the smaller box and a one pan magetic case hides under!

Is there something under there? Why yes there is! Peek a boo indeed!

Let’s check out the etc. package.

My whole life is an etc. and I can not package that!

So Choix etc.

Some application brushes. A step up the quality of some Sample applicators but it will do its job better in a pinch then some or equal to GWP applicators.

Ok back to the single pan compact called So Choix Pod.

Pods sell. Especially if chocolate is involved. I digress…

So Choix Pod

So Choix Pod – Nice quality and pulls heartstrings for me to buy.all.the.pans!

The choix sticker is removable but I am going to keep it on until it gets dingy or I run into lighter fluid.

Yes. Lighter fluid. Gets rid of new and old stickers. That’s what my in-laws taught me…

And now to the main event!

image

Nice foreplay cover so I peeled the top cover it off gingerly and noted the pretty box in all its box glory.

The box is good quality for those box aficionados like me!

Lift open the box and here is the view.

Protective Fuzz.

Let’s dig in!

So Choix – Chanel Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil

Chanel Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil

Ok I have a full size of this BUT I misplaced it. I needed a fix because at $29 a pop for something that lasts practically forever its not something I need to keep buying. This is my favorite eyebrow pencil!

My Precious!

Note: You will need the sticker or any sticker to keep the clear top to stay on.

With a little elbow grease I was able to remove the black cover bottom thinge.

It was also easy to put back the black cover bottom thinge.

I pre-answer all the Humpty Dumpty inquiries.

I am not sure whether I can sharpen something so tiny but I think my husband has one of those sharp wood thingies if I was desperate.

I am all about the thingies.

Here is a swatch using a light-to-medium hand to show the subtle awesomeness that is this eyebrow pencil!

So Choix – Guerlain Meteorite Pearls

Guerlain Meteorite Pearls in 3 Medium and 4 Dore – Balls! I have the original balls (2 Clair) which I mostly admire because I still need to find my large fluffy blush from the move.

I like to apply my balls with a large fluffy blush.

Here is the booty view for your viewing pleasure.

I wanted to check out these balls to see whether I should be adding to my ball collection.

image

I had forgotten that these balls smelled of what I think is violets. Once applied the scent of the ball dissapated. I have to say it was kind of fascinating to see crushed balls as I would never do that to my own balls.

Pnut Kitty Swatch says “So these are what crushed up balls look like!”

So Choix – Cle de Peau Beaute Concealer and Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer

Cle de Peau Beaute Concealer in Ocher – I have been reading reviews on how awesome this $70 concealer is. But it was $70! I was too intimidated to go to the beauty counter and not leave with expensive items without a GWP because Cle De Peau hardly gives GWPs to my knowledge.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Radiant Bronze – I was also fascinated by the Hourglass brand and wanted to sample something. I was literally shocked how hey got this sample to look as marbled as the $50 full size.

The booty side for your viewing pleasure.

There is a protect sticker covering each pan.

Swatched for your viewing pleasure. I am in love with both products!

Verdict: With three kids and a subscription box budget for my “me time”, I would rather use So Choix for their subscription box services for high-end items that would incur high-pressure sales if I went to a beauty counter. Plus I trust So Choix’s hygiene over an unprotected beauty counter. Hopefully So Choix will have a sweet code during the holidays for a long-term subscription because then I will sign up for (and review here for you too)!

Yay! You got a box!! I like the shadow colors. Also, my flat, thin brows harrumph at your eyebrow pencil. That would last me 2-3 days! I purchased a full sized Milk eyebrow pencil after getting the sample in my BB… but I loathe sharpening makeup pencils because it’s a waste of makeup ='(

Oh I use the Chanel to the nub and slightly sharpen that stuff is pricey!

But I am very liberal of making sure my black eyeliners are sharpened with a point just because I need my arrows sharpened in case I would get pelted in the dark by them. Or something. Ahem.

Thank you for posting this 🙂 I just spent $30 or so lately on some beauty boxes and I’m so disappointed with what I got! I got the case of the FOMO and ordered a couple of boxes during this one mystery special. Soooo wish I didn’t. I hardly ever buy beauty boxes in the past year since I kept receiving stuff I wouldn’t or couldn’t use and wasn’t able to gift away. But with this A La Cart way of doing sample sounds like a great way for me to able to try new to me beauty products. I already took a quick peek and thinking about trying out some of the no frizz hair care.

Yes FOMO is the reason I keep subscribing lol. Its easier for me to hold back from mystery boxes for the most part be because I love spoilers. I did get the PSMH mystery box because it promised a high value so I tooked the risk and ordered one. I almost ordered two lol.

I love reading your high end reviews! Why yes, you must never crush your balls. I think Birchbox should follow their business model. This sounds much more sustainable!!

    • July 13, 2016 at 11:46 pm

Thanks! Yes mustn’t crush balls on any account!

I like that you can try something without the sales people around. I hate when they give me input because I have to pretend I am a super nice polite person but really I just want to look and think on my own!

At Sephora I just ask for a sample when they do that and then they leave me at peace!

Thank you for reviewing this box / makeup sample service. I had to use your link to look up what those balls are supposed to be used for and still not sure I understand – powder? Bronzer? Illuminator?? BALLS!! You crack me up. 🙂

    • July 16, 2016 at 1:09 pm

      Illuminating balls 😉
