I received 5 items and one bonus item.

R+CO Death Valley Dry Shampoo: Birchbox would make a lot of money off of me if they sent me products I would use. R+Co describes it the fastest way to get volume in your hair. I can flip my hair upside down and shake it to add scary volume to my hair. I’ve emailed BB before about the hair products. The shampoo is made in the USA.

A befitting shampoo to use in Death Valley.

The Balm Balm Desert: We are now traveling from Death Valley to a more civilized place in the desert where it is acceptable to have a pool. Kudos to Birchbox for selecting The Balm.  It fits in with the box design. I always wonder if it is fun to work for The Balm Cosmetics. I love their designs.  I will give the color a try because it is made in the USA although I doubt I can pull it off.

I want to go on vacation and visit The Balm Resort!

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Cleanser
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Cleanser

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Cleanser: This cleanser contains willow bark, salicylic acid, and tea tree oil. Salicylic acid is a derivative of aspirin.  The second ingredient is SLS which irritates my skin causing it be bright red and feels like a burn. It is made in the USA.

Sometimes I feel like my pores are large enough that I can swim in them.

I went to pick up the cleanser and a bee landed on the flower next to it.

Coola Makeup Setting Spray:
Coola Makeup Setting Spray:

Coola Makeup Setting Spray:  Coola is my pick my sample choice. The spray has natural green tea, aloe, and green tea in it. It has a SPF 30 and is used to set your makeup. The spray feels cool and has a light scent. I can pick up a slight cosmetic alcohol scent in it. It stung my arm when I sprayed it to test it. I will be passing it onto my sister. This is made in the USA.

Woe is me. A makeup setting spray will never be for me.

Beauty Protector Oil
Beauty Protector Oil

Birchbox Protector Protect & Oil: This mysterious oil has a sweet scent to cover up the argan oil scent. Do not wear it on a day where you will be outside a lot, or you’ll be the queen bee. The Protector brand has no past, no website, and the Facebook page directs you to the Birchbox website where it tells you a nameless hair stylist created the brand. I had no idea until I realized that I do not know where the brand is manufactured. I still do not know.

Beauty Protector will not only protect your hair, but it will also protect your identity.

Miss Jellie's Jelly Soft Curls
Miss Jellie’s Jelly Soft Curls

Miss Jessie’s Jelly Soft Curls:  Miss Jessie is promising me soft, sexy, touchable curls. I will take her up on that promise. There’s no fooling around with this product. It is recommended that you use a quarter-size, not a dime or nickel-size amount of product and apply it to damp curls. The bonus item is made in the USA. This is the first time I have received an item designed for my hair.

Is Jelly soft or squishy?

Verdict: I’m impressed that almost all my items are made in the USA. I also think the items fit the theme.

What did you receive in your Birchbox? Any new favs?

I got the Coola SPF Makeup Setting Spray as my pick last month too, but my sprayer doesn’t work at all… I tried soaking in warm water to clear it out but no luck. 🙁 I really want to use it but don’t want to have to try any harder.

I just got my September box today (was supposed to arrive 11th-14th so a little late) but overall, I love it!! Even though the perfume spilled, but I don’t ever want those anyway so not sure I want to bother even telling Birchbox about it – since I don’t want them to replace it or anything.
