GlossyBox Review – September 2015

GlossyBox is a beauty subscription box that runs $21 a month or less if you decide you want to go in for a longer subscription. The box includes higher end brands as well as ones you can peep at Target. Usually most items are full size. I would admit that GlossyBox is one of my favorite beauty subscriptions because they tend to send out some interesting skincare items.

I also have found that their customer service has been really good in my personal dealings with them. It might take a few days for them to get back to me but they have always resolved issues I have had. Like when I forgot to use a coupon code, or the time I thought I signed up but it did not go through.

The actual boxes they pack the items in are really nice. I find it so tough to throw them out, and this is not just because I am a sad hoarder who holds on to crap I really shouldn’t. If you like packaging they really bring it!

Cost: $21 a month and cheaper for longer subscription options.

So it has finally arrived!

I love that they still keep nice packaging!

Nailsinc London - Nail Polish (Uptown)
Nailsinc London – Nail Polish (Uptown)

Nailsinc London – Nail Polish (Uptown): I personally like colors in this family because you don’t need to worry about a little chip unless you are taking pics for your blog and you hand will be in it, and your nails will pretty much go with any outfit.  I will have to report back on the longevity of the polish but I do hear some good things about this brand.

This is pretty big bottle of neutral polish and it was made in England… so basically by the Queen herself right?

Stiks Cosmetiks - Lipstik (Mauve)
Stiks Cosmetiks – Lipstik (Mauve)

Stiks Cosmetiks – Lipstik (Mauve): I think it is pretty cool that they made this so you can open it with one hand! I have hand problems but even if I didn’t I would probably be using my other hand to eat pad thai the idea apeals to me on many levels. The color is similar to many I have recieved. I think it goes with the nail polish pretty well.

They have some nerve making me spell things with a “k” that way. “Lipstik” indeed…

Biossance - The Revitalizer
Biossance – The Revitalizer

Biossance – The Revitalizer: This is a little sample of some body oil. They use a lot of fancy language to basically tell you that this will keep you from having crazy dry skin. I am for that. It comes in a cute bottle with a super cool dropper that reminds me of the medicen I have to force upon my cat twice a day.

I can imagine stepping out of the shower and being super cold trying to use the dropper to get the exact amount of drops for use…

12 Benefits - Love At First Lather Shampoo
12 Benefits – Love At First Lather Shampoo

12 Benefits – Love At First Lather Shampoo: This might be fun to use! You pump out the shampoo and lather up. While you lather your hair you can have all sorts of really deep shower thoughts. You can wonder what the 12 benefits actually are, and try to think of more than that. Then you can imagine calling up their company all excited “Eurkea I found ANOTHER benefit for you!”

If they name a scent in your honor what will it smell like?

Emite Make Up - Blush (108)
Emite Make Up – Blush (108)

Emite Make Up – Blush (108): This came broken. I was pretty sad. I emailed GlossyBox and they took care of it right away. They couldn’t send me the exact product but gave me a huge list of other products I could pick instead. Yay!

I had to spend WAY too much time deciding which one I wanted off of the list… almost caused me a mini meltdown.

Verdict: GlossyBox always delivers bang for a buck. This month was not my personal favorite but it was useful. I liked that they matched the lipstick to the nails and that there are new brands I haven’t tried. I also dig that there are a good representation of different beauty categories. I am glad  they took care of my issue really quickly!

Great review! But wow that blush….I think it might have been trampled by an elephant at some point. Glad they sent you a new product.

Thanks! Yeah, it kinda leaked a little too so the pics have sort of dirty products. But they are actually just wearing blush!

Products need makeup too. Maybe it was the products that broke the blush. Seriously, their only hope is the delivery journey and our makeup pouches to achieve the blush dreams equal to a 9 year old girl running rampart with her mother’s blush.
        I can probably foretell futures…

I heard that broken blush can hear your thoughts…

            And tears likely…

Pnut does your child steal your makeup often or did you steal your mom’s? The makeup I stole from my mom once was purple eyeshadow… I had no idea how to do makeup till I was uh probably like 22! And I still own a few weird colors. I tell myself the bright blue tattoo eyeshadow is useful because I live in Seahawks land… but I wore it for a Cleopatra costume and then never again.

I give Pnut People #1 natural lip glosses from sub boxes to ward her off my makeup. She has been pretty good since she has a few. The last attack prior to that was scratching a full size Cargo blush.

I stole my mother’s Clinique purple eyeshadow and it showed.

I also learned to do makeup later too. Maybe it was the purple eyeshadow. I have a few weird colors but most of them are from an Urban Decay palette I like their normal eyeshadows for the most part.

I’m always scared to try Urban Decay. Like I might leave the shop looking like some sexy raver in the face, but my clothes say “almost-sexy-librarian-who-doesn’t-iron.”

Hahaha love your funny commentary Andrea!

It’s a great review! How can you leave us hanging by not telling us what item you selected to replaced the blush?

I got all pressured and just went with the unwash shampoo which I really like and am now out of it. They had so much to pick from that it hurt my eyes hahah

Good choice! It worked out perfectly.
