Birchbox cost’s $10 a month but if you review your items then you get a credit of 10 points for each one which is $1 to use in the store. Points can only be spent in increments of $10. Which take no time to get. They have the best point system out of any box I have tried!
Birchbox is the “Gateway” box that will lead you down a road I have yet to make my way back from. Perhaps in that forest of boxes you and I will meet and discuss bronzer while spraying various products all over our hair. The murmurs around us will lead us to our next “Holy Grail” beauty item…
The box is cute, not blow me away awesome. I feel like if I stare at it long enough a beauty blogger will sort of 3D out of it… I am also on my third large glass of red wine…
Can’t know what is in the box without a program! Or in this case an info card…
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics – Lip Tar (Strumpet): I dig this color and that it is matte. My problem is that while putting what I would consider a very small amount of it on. I ended up getting it all over the place. I am talking about my upper lip, my hands, and weirdly smeared across my forehead. I honestly don’t really know what happened and can’t even blame wine on this one. Usually this product comes with a brush and I imagine that would help a great deal. All I can say is that a VERY small dab will due you.
I was obsessively compulsively trying to get this off of my face and hands…
Cynthia Rowley Beauty – Brightening Illuminator: I like to use illumination to try to appear a bit more youthful and awake. I have yet to try this formula which makes me kinda a crap reviewer of it right? I will say that it is a big enough sample to try out a few times, and for whatever reason gold dots really do it for me.
I love that they have instructions on how to put this on, now where do I put it to look less like I stayed up all night writing reviews and composing cat poems?
Whish – Renewing Mud Mask: I am glad to not get the same lotion or shave cream from this brand. I didn’t even know they had other products! I will give this a try the next time I want to “just rub in a circular motion,” my face that is…
Now I know why pigs always look so refreshed! Mud!
Amika – Bombshell Blowout Spray: I like to get hair products and am familiar with the brand. I actually may even have this product already. I am terrible and never really take the time to blow dry my hair. I like to say I am low maintenance but the truth is I am lazy!
Will give me a “bouncy ‘do” rather than a flat “don’t.”
Cathrine Malandrino – Romance de Provence: I always kinda get sad when I get scents because I am so picky about what I like and would rather try out something else. I don’t really care of this scent and find it too mature smelling which means it probably is something I SHOULD like.
I wish this smelled like Herbs de Provence! Yum!
Verdict: I could use these products on a date night. I mean it would be odd to show up with a face covered in mud mask but I like to keep my loved one on his toes so to speak. I will have fun playing around with the products. Who knows? I may get the hang of the lip tar after all!

Lovely box (the actual box)! That was my favorite part of the review. I usually love curated boxes but I skipped this one because it had perfume mostly (but ai got one anyway in my BB), hardly blow me hair out, and scared of Lippie tars lol. It looks like you enjoyed your box and it is funny if you did use all the products on date night! Or better yet, get your loved one to wear a mask too!
