Birchbox often allows those who order $35 or more to add a Mystery Sample Pack for free. This is fun because you get a little something extra and it is a surprise.
Oddly, I have ordered things and been sent the packs before I got the actual thing I ordered. I wish they would just wait and send everything together because it is confusing and also it is wasteful. I once ordered a large order and this big box came. I was all excited until I picked up the big box and it felt super light. Like, SUPER light. So I opened it and it only had the sample pack in it. I thought they forgot to put the product in the box and emailed them. They replied back that everything was fine and from then on I have accepted this quirk.
Packs come in both Ladies and Mens
I was sent:
-A deluxe size sample of Keims Hair Care – Peppermint & Macadamia Shampoo
-Foil sample of Nelsonj Beverly Kills – Moisture Healing Mask
-Foil sample Kerastase – Chroma Captive (another mask like conditioner)
Verdict: Over all I am happy and at least it wasn’t two foil samples like other people have been sent before. I would not value this at $10, which is what Birchbox will charge if you just want to buy a mystery sample without making the $35 minimum purchase. I mean… come on guys, you send out pretty awesome boxes for $10!!!

Hmmm you got three things instead of two maybe they are doubling up the foil samples. Which is good except they are foils lol. If you go swimming keep the Nelsons in your bag and put it in your hair before swimming its good for that and its is a good conditioner that works!
That is an awesome tip! I have a full size I am working on but this will go into my beach bag… unless Onderria wants me to send because she is going on a vacation soon?
My dry ass curls are fickle. If products aren’t meant for curly/frizzy/brunette hair I get this horrible coating or very parched feeling on my hair, so I’m always very dubious of BB hair products…
I never really thought about it before, but yeah the mystery sample pack is NEVER worth the $10 it shows up as costing in your cart! Goood point.
It is annoying that they just dont auto include it…
I got an SW Basics lip balm and a Violet Laura Mercier sample size eye liner, but I have no idea where I put it! 🙁
Ohh I love Laura Mercier!!!! I hope yo find it soon. I am ALWAYS losing things… it is so bad that I just accept that it will somehow make its way back to me or it wasn’t meant to be hahaha
