Everything in this box intrigued me.

So twist my arm and open my wallet!

The box is plain as day.

GMA Discover The Deal Box

If you needed a plain box for gifting, here is your box to hoard as an alternative to an Amazon box.

Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer

Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer

Amazing. How have I not discovered this? Maybe its because I am a little obsessed with MAC concealers.

This is why I need all the boxes. To discover new stuff.

Baby Foot Original Exfoliant Foot Peel

Baby Foot Original Exfoliant Foot Peel

I have used (from a PSMH box) and have a backup (from a PSMH mystery box) copycat from PopSugar

This is the most disgusting yet satisfying product that will give you baby smooth feet.

dr. brandt microdermabrasion age-defying exfoliator

dr. brandt microdermabrasion age-defying exfoliator

I like this. It does not hold a candle to dr. brandt microdermabrasion in a jar though.

RIP dr. brandt microdermabrasion in a jar.

Foster Grant Sunglasses

Foster Grant Sunglasses

As you can see I received Apt. 9 which is not Foster Grant apparently. An email was sent with a $20 with free ship code to get any Foster Grant Sunnies that I wanted. I fought off the urge to pay an extra $10 to get polarized and got a nice unpolarized pair.

I lose/misplace my sunnies so much I purposely have them scattered all over. Sounds kinda counter-intuitive.

Go Smile Teeth Whitening Gel

Go Smile Teeth Whitening Gel

This gel looks strikingly gorgeous. It is like a clear crystal bubble of happiness. Well… you would definitely be more happy if you follow directions and use it in conjunction with your toothpaste because it tastes horrible if you brush with it alone. I am not sure whether it works but I enjoy putting it on my toothbrush and admiring the gel. I is weird.

Pictures cannot do this gel justice. I am just telling you its beautiful.

Julep Take a Breather Nail Oxygen Treatment

Julep Take a Breather Nail Oxygen Treatment

I have not fallen down the Julep hole because I had fallen in deep with Zoya.

Zoya is the best nail polish ever. Plus its nail polish remover is the bomb!

I digress, this would have been awesome back in my OPI and Essie days because my nails would literally be yellowed (even with a base coat). But this seemed sheer, you can apply it every day, and its a treatment to boot so I have these on my nails right now. It is very sheer like less than Essie’s Ballet Slippers and it does not give any vertical lines that Essie’s sheer polishes usually do.

I am still sticking with Zoya though.

Michael Todd Beauty Charcoal Detox

Michael Todd Beauty Charcoal Detox

As you can see, there is some spillage. I do not know who to complain to and it is not really a big deal. I always wanted to try Michael Todd (and maybe I do have another subscription box sample somewhere that I forgot about). I digress, I was nervous to try this on my face thinking washing it out would stain my washcloths but it actually turns to semi-opaque when applied. No stains at all! My big issue was that I used too much product and my face literally soaped up in bubbles.

Go light-handed with this one.

Mission On-The-Go Cooling Towel
Mission On-The-Go Cooling Towel

Mission On-The-Go Cooling Towel

Oh my goodness I LOVE cooling towels. Back when I found them, it was those towels that harden up as they dried. And then I found these soft ones. I love how this has a hook to hang up the towel!

Mission On-The-Go Cooling Towel
Mission On-The-Go Cooling Towel

I love wearing one tied around my neck (sometimes I tuck in the ends) in the summer time because I melt under the sun. If you want some normal colors, I suggest these which are a bargain at $5ish each! These are also awesome for hot flashes that I get postpartum and sometimes when my bewbs fill up with milk. I do TMI much.

If you hate the heat, please go down this $5 rabbit hole. You will thank me.

Murad Oil-Control Mattifier SPF15 \ PA++

Murad Oil-Control Mattifier SPF15 \ PA++

Oh my goodness, I thought these just were in every Sephora kit that I ever bought. This is nothing special. I do not recall magical sucking up oil powers so this is good for those with normal skin. Might still have some shine though if you are oily. Possibly ok or maybe drying if you have dry skin. My only really issue is the low SPF.

But low SPF is better than no SPF 😉

nugg FACE MASK hydrating mask

nugg FACE MASK hydrating mask

Yes! I never received one during the BB days where this was whored out.

My first Nugg!

A random digression, I always wanted one because it reminded me of a Nug from the Dragon Age: Origins, one of the best role playing computer games ever. A Nug is not a face mask but is a animal that kinda resembles a pig and makes cute noises.

I mean how often does one hear the word Nugg unless you are in the subscription world?

Primal Elements Glycerin Soap
Primal Elements Glycerin Soap

Primal Elements Glycerin Soap

I always wanted one of these soaps but never plunged some clams for them. Now I have one and its going to be gifted lol. I had tried one of their mini candles. I would actually be so stoked if they had one of their candles in a subscription box. Actually, any candle in a subscription box would make me happy.

Too festive for my tastes.

Rustic Cuff Travel Tin Candle

Rustic Cuff Travel Tin Candle

Speaking of candles, here one is! I love the scent and it is a cute wee travel candle that I actually have lit as I am blogging after midnight.

Rustic Cuff Travel Tin Candle

It has an good throw for being a mini-candle and I appreciate it.

Sigma Beauty Mini E65 Small Angle Brush
Sigma Beauty Mini E65 Small Angle Brush

Sigma Beauty Mini E65 Small Angle Brush

I need to keep reminding myself that Sigma Beauty has its own brush subscription. That people actually subscribe to because they like their brushes.

Is it really a gift if it is not for individual sale?

Sockart – 4 Pack
Sockart – 4 Pack

Sockart – 4 Pack

I would have loved to receive the pandas but I will take cactus. I think of Onderria every time I see socks in my boxes. I am not sure whether she likes ankle socks though. I do. Anyway, I need to make sure I put on the black and pink ones when I put on Squeak’s black and pink kitty socks because short of the kitties on her socks, the color block matches.

Cute Onderria = cute socks

SpaLife Face Wraps Cucumber & Aloe

SpaLife Face Wraps Cucumber & Aloe

I tried this and it was nothing special. I did learn that you can always apply a sheet mask warm by putting it in warm water for a few minutes by reading its directions. I prefer a cold mask probably because I need to wake up and not be put down to sleep. The package was not dripping with essence, however, I felt a little parched after patting the essence left on my face and had to apply some moisturizer on ma face.

Multi-tasking can be more luxurious whilst wearing a scary sheet mask.

Spruce & Co. Screen Cleaning Wipe

Spruce & Co. Screen Cleaning Wipe

I am going to put this as an extra as a gift. I did try this when I received it in a Squix box I believe. Handy, convenient but I usually have some glass cleaner and wipes on hand so it could be an extra treat for someone else.

Cleaning wipe foils = One of the few foils of happiness.

Tattly Pastel Blooms Temporary Tattoos by Helen Dealtry

Tattly Pastel Blooms Temporary Tattoos by Helen Dealtry

These two (identical) tattoos remind me of my childhood when I was in Girl Scouts and we put a temporary tattoo on a plastic container that held “Girl Scout”-made bubblegum bath salts.

Other than that random fact, these are just very expensive flower tats.

TokyoMilk Dark – Pretty Rotten Perfume

TokyoMilk Dark – Pretty Rotten Perfume

My first TokyoMilk perfume! Yea! I am going to put this in my collection of miniature bottles.

TokyoMilk Dark – Pretty Rotten Perfume

The scent reminds me of the perfumes which I started my collection way back.

TokyoMilk Dark – Pretty Rotten Perfume

Other than being cute miniature bottles, they all smelled the same.

I.Heart.Mini.Perfume.Bottles.

Vita Liberata Body Blur

Vita Liberata Body Blur

This sounds like something I would have someone drunk read the label.

A real drunk conversation starter.

GMA Discover The Deal Box

The VERDICT:

Win. I know a lot of commentators were not happy with this box. I was happy. I liked all the brands and thought it was a great value. I hope GMA issues more boxes in the future.

Disclaimer: I bought this GMA box with my own clams. I prefer The Today Show over GMA. There are affiliate links in this post.

I got this box and for the most part liked it. Unfortunately, the baby peel was lavender (allergic ) so didn’t get to try it. I love the Tokyo milk perfume though and got to pick sunglasses from the Foster grant site. The julep I’ve been wearing since I got it – love the sheer application, but not sure if it is strengthening my nails or not. Most of the samples I have tried I liked, though the Purple mask was light on serum.

note on nugget mask – it made my face strong really bad, not tingle, But there was no redness or allergic reaction. It didn’t do much for my face. However, I used the rest as a hand and foot mask – it was great! It left my feet/hands feeling moisturized for days. (To make it a foot mask I rubbed it on feet, then wrapped one of those twist tie sheer gallon bags over each foot, then put sock art socks over for twenty minutes.)

Thanks for the Nugg advice! I have been usin Josh R’s mask (bought a one time Detox box will review that soon) as my main mask now so that Nugg technique will be more realistically used especially with the cold Chicago weather!
I am going to wait til the end of winter for the baby peel. I still have a fake baby peel backup from PSMH. I actually love the scent of lavender but a lavender scented baby peel gives me pause. It sounds like it would not be a nice scented lavender with all those chemicals mixed in. I like the Julip it applied well and I also agree whether it actually does anything except apply nice. Its not enough wow to make me change my loyalty to Zoya.
Overall a very nice box with an added pair of Pick-Your-Own-Sunglasses!
