Saturday Empties Extravaganza 9/8/15

I’m going to hide my head in the sand. Not only am I late, but people emailed me their empties!  I hope the trend continues that I receive emails about empties even though I am late, late, late!

This is a  weekly feature mainly because I do not want to keep empties in my house for a month! Email your empties pictures to me at subbellaboxes at yahoo dot com. Don’t be shy!

The cats and I held a meeting. Only 2 cats showed up.

This is about 3 weeks of empties – the ones I remembered not to throw out anyway… I’ve been trying to finish some things so I can justify getting more each month but I’m so bad about trying new things before I finish open ones!  SubBella – I have a few, ok more than a few, open products.  It’s hard to resist the shiny new toys that come in the beauty boxes.
I did “cheat” a little bit – not sure what the rules are? Any beauty empties? Items from sub boxes only?? SubBella – The kitties decided rules are meant to be ignored.
The Oscar Blandi dry shampoo WAS in a sub box (Beauty Fix?) but this is one I already had and it took me forever to finish – I don’t use a lot of dry shampoo and don’t like the smell of this one anyway. SubBella – How were you able to stand the dry shampoo. I admire your perseverance in finishing it. I would have tossed it.

Hydroxatone cream was from Beauty DNA – it was good. The 2 little clear vials in front of it were Beauty DNA also (2 month Rue La La deal) – its Babor Extra Vitality serum and there are 7 little vials (I’ve used 5… see? Is that cheating?) there are actually 2 types of serum vials – 4 of one & 3 of the other… I was  able to get 3-4 uses out of each tiny thing somehow even using on my whole face, neck & décolletage. SubBella – This is my fault for not checking the photos! The doggies are cute.
Tatcha foil – there were 3 with my order and I’ve used them all (really liked them darnit!) but 2 empties were tossed while traveling for work. SubBella -Another TATCHA fan!

Acure Brightening scrub sample was from the Goddess box. SubBella – I bought another box in August. I need to review it!
L’Occitane Immortelle from the box earlier this year. (The cute round pink box that had gummy bears.) SubBella – Everyone loves the gummy bears.
Anthelios 60 sunscreen from Sephora sun safety kit – I really liked it but assume full size is expensive.  SubBella – Why are the good sunscreens expensive?
Julep polish remover pad – I’ve just used the one out of a box of 10 (again with the cheating!) but I found out that pads are my new favorite way to remove polish – it’s quicker, easier, less messy & less smelly! No doubt it’s more expensive but wow it’s worth it for me!! (I tried a Cutex one from a Target box and it was just as good!) SubBella – Another Julep convert. I’m hiding from Julep. I fear I will end up with a zillion nailpolishes.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost gel-cream was from a Target box too – nice little moisturizer for summer. SubBella – Target Beauty Box is the darling of the sub box world.
From Birchbox: Dermaclear (Dr. Jart) Microwater – I ADORE microwaters and this one is really good. And Juara scrub also from BB was good. SubBella – Yay for Birchbox love.
Estée Lauder Sumptuous mascara was part of a gift with purchase – it was okay. SubBella – It must not be a splendid mascara.
Last but not least is the Oatmeal Soap… It’s part of the Goat Milk Syndicate!! It was in the March TOM box and the brand is Common Goat Sense. I adore the smell and loved washing my hands with it the first 50 times or so but now that more of the soap has dissolved, the oatmeal chunks are starting to hurt! Is that weird or normal?? SubBella – The Goat Milk Syndicate is pleased. Oatmeal soaps feel rough to me after frequent use.

Driftaway coffee from Mexico, sunscreen from Birchbox,  and our Blue Apron delivery which included a summer vegetable quiche recipe. SubBella – I miss receiving Pur-liss this year. It was a heavily featured item in subscription boxes last year.

I have some empties! This may not count since (a) I didn’t get these from any boxes and (b) most are foils. I’ve been committed to going through my hoard this year, so I’m not buying any more beauty boxes.  SubBella – We count all! I’m impressed with your self-control. I need to exercise that more often.

Anyway, left to right are:
1) Guerlain Abeille Royal serum;
2) Sisley Paris Hydra-Global moisturizer foil;
3) Sisley Paris Hydra-Flash Formule Intense face mask foil;
4) DDF Ultra-Lite Oil-Free Moisturizing Dew.

The only thing I may buy in a full size (once I finish my hoard) is the Sisley Hydra-Flash Formule Intense. It is super hydrating and my skin looked bright, dewy, rested. I also liked the Hydra-Global moisturizer, but I’m not sure I $255-for-a-full-size like it. SubBella – I hate it when I love something expensive! The Sisley Hydra products sound amazing.
