GlobeIn Subscription Box Review + Coupon – February 2016

Disclosure: Post contains affiliate links, Opinions? Honest as the work day is long…

GlobeIn is a subscription that seeks to bring the world to you every month in the form of carefully curated artisanal goods from throughout the world. They take the time to make sure items are fairly traded and therefore support artists and their work. This theme is really important to me as a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer I saw first hand while serving how much it can mean to an artist, family, and whole community to be fairly paid for their hard work. It can mean a drastically better life!

GlobeIn has two boxes:

Artisan Box: $35 a month, $33 per month with a 3 month subscription, and $30 a month with a 6 month subscription. Use coupon codes WELCOME to save 25% off of your first box with a 3 month subscription!!!

Benefit Basket: A smaller version of the Artisan Box that has one item nestled a basket: $19.99 a month or $56.95 every 3 months. Use coupon code TRYBENEFIT to save $7 off of a 3 month subscription!!!

The theme of this month is something I can get behind: Rise & Shine

I am not a morning person at all. I struggle in the best of morning to get out of my warm bed where my cat is snuggled with me purring. I guess I am more of a night owl person so anytime I can both rise & shine it is a good day indeed!

Le Souk Olivique – Olive Wood Spreader and Spatula: I love the way these look. Which is weird because I never thought I would ever gaze down at a spatula and say to myself “This is just beautiful!” But the wood really is very interesting and pretty to me!

Made in Tunisia, these pieces are both great quality and do good for the communities they serve. Le Souk Olivique has helped many artisans who lost their jobs during financial crises so that those workers can continue to use their skills to make wonderful products and a life for themselves.

I think I will call this my “Display Spreader and Spatula” I will show it off whenever someone new comes over!

The Argan Project – Argan Almond Butter: Made in Morocco, a country I very much hope to visit one day, by co-ops who use their knowledge to create better economic prospects. The oil itself is packed with

I have slathered a ton of argan oil on my hair and skin, but never have I thought about eating it! I want to save this for something that is not as boring as just slapping it on bread because, it is such a new thing to me. I do love almond butter on pancakes with fruit, so I think I will do my own Reese”s style pancake with chocolate. I am sure this will not go wrong because it just simply can’t!

I want to eat this so bad I may just do breakfast for dinner!

Matr Boomie – Block Print Trivet: I don’t own a trivet, so I am thinking my kitchen is woefully under supplied. It is actually kinda cool that I will be able to look back in time at my thoughts of my very first trivet, right here! The block print I was sent is really cute, and I think it is so cool that these prints were carved on blocks before they even made it to my counter.

Even better that this comes from a fair trade collection that Matr Boomie sells in order to develop solar power, education, and health care initiatives! It is really something to think of rural villages who would otherwise be limited by their lack of infrastructure creating a way to build that infrastructure for themselves!

I feel like calling up my sister and asking if she has a trivet and then bragging to her about mine! Then I can end arguments with her by saying things like “Well someone without a trivet would probably think that way…”

Basket: Every month you will usually get a basket. I love these and have been storing all my various sundries in them. It makes my place look a lot more neater and it has been fun collecting them. They hide my messy shame in style!

Verdict: GlobeIn did a nice job making me want to get going in the morning! After all, my breakfasts will be a lot more interesting with fun items to use! I am always touched that this subscription sends me little pieces of quality good from all over the world, and that I can feel really good about them making their way to me. Now I am off to go annoy my sister about her lack of Trivets….

Pretty basket! It looks shorter than usual I like how they are mixing it up. I think I love GlobeIn reviews because I like to see the baskets everyone gets!

I have no clue why but your wood products look wasted to me. I must be tired. I only had beerbread…

I will measure it! maybe I fit the top on tighter. I don’t even know because I was imagining pancakes! Wasted? Like they drank too much? Because yeah, we had all been partying together before the review…

Wasted the spoon looks like it has an eye and is hungover. I think. Heh. Wonder how the GlobeIn laundry party went!
