Sunday Morning Coffee Talk: Superbowl Edition

Well, for most of you it isn’t Sunday Morning anymore so this may be like an after espresso talk for you or let’s face it you are probably consuming an adult beverage in a pre-game ritual for the upcoming….

SUPERBOWL!!!!

I am one of those girls who likes today solely for the sake of yummmy un-healthy food, beer drinking and funny commercials and not because I know anything about football. Anything I know about football is from watching the television show The League.
Here is my artistic interpretation of the super bowl:

super bowlSo in coming up with my post today I was a little nervous. I pretty much have a feeling you are going to be pretty busy eating, drinking and maybe canoodling (because it is an awesome word) and not reading this. I looked up some super bowl terms and will now interpret them into my subscription box life.

Fumble: A ball that is dropped after a player had complete control of it
My fumble: Target + Popsugar box
Sigh, I didn’t realize the spoiler for this box came out the day it was released and it was a fitness tracker. I am not sure what big ticket item I was hoping for but it wasn’t a fitness tracker. I know the value of it made the box awesome but I am just to lazy to track my fitness, sleep and food.

So ironically enough I am to lazy to use the big ticket item from a fitness box……..

Touchdown: A glorious score that happens when a player takes the ball into an opponent’s end zone.
My touchdown: I found an amazing new box. It is called Boxwalla. They offer four kinds of boxes in the area of food, literature, film and beauty. They had closed sales for their February beauty box but I emailed the curator and she agreed to let me order one. Read her amazing blog post on natural beauty stuff here. It is full of common sense, no judgements, and a true scientific knowledge of ingredients.

Stay tuned for Jan. box budget breakdown

Snap: The exchange of the ball from the really big guy in front of the quarterback to the quarterback.
My Snap: Very soon this month my PSMH box will have to change hands from Fed-ex to be delivered by USPS. Will that exchange occur in a timely manner?!?! I am on pins and needles because I have avoided spoilers to be surprised when I get my box (I am so excited!!!!)

Reunited with PSMH and it feels so good

Blitz: The defense sends more than four men rushing toward the quarterback in an effort to tackle or at least run into him
My Blitz: It has been a little over a month since I came over to Subscriptionista.com from my own blog. I have been having so much fun charging the Sub Box world with these ladies. They make me laugh so hard and have even made me teary eyed.

The question is what quarterback are we chasing?!?

Downs: Equivalent to a try, a team has four of downs (or tires) to gain 10 yards, earn a first down, and then start the process all over again.
My Downs: Birchbox and I have been on the outs for about 4-5 months. But this month, they surprised me and got a little of the love back that I once had for them. They are at first down. Let’s see where the year takes us.

After all their Jan theme was Big Plans!

Alright your mission should you chose to accept is to take a football term and tell us about your sub box life using that term….. List of terms: Here
Things may get hard. You will feel challenged. But…just do it!

Love this little guide! I plan on just yelling at the TV and then being critical of the half time show… hahaha

Wow, I think I just learned something about football… I’ve been cleaning, making cheesy bread, and I’m working on my caramel puffcorn right now. Crackcorn, as we call it.

I watch The League in spurts. Usually I’ll wait until the season is complete so I can binge watch (or skip episodes I don’t like). Rafi is my favorite!

Yes! Binge watching is the only way to go. We wait till it comes out on netflix. Gotta love the prompt from Netflix after 4-5 episodes that goes “are you still watching?”

The best I can do is: the game was boring as was my subless week.

This post, on the other hand, was awesome.

I’m getting some crap this week that might be interesting or totes boring but I feel you on this last week being dry as a bone!

Ground shipping rears its ugly head as I live my sub box life 2 weeks behind. I hope you ate some delicious snacks to make up for it!

        *tummy full of noms*

I was distracted by wee people at the party we went to but the commercials seemed good for the most part…
