Luxe Provence is a luxury subscription that specializes in bringing France to your door. Which I think is actually a daunting task now that I know more about the world of subscriptions. It is curated with an eye for actual French items that will prove themselves useful in your American home!
I have been burned by French subscriptions in the past so I was a little wary when LP first hit the scene. It quickly proved itself to be reliable and to ship on time. Goodness knows that the same thing can’t be said about a couple other subscriptions… sigh.
Cost: $195 single for a single box and $799 annually
They do have single boxes and collection boxes for sale in their store should you decide that you want a fling with a French box but not a whole drawn out relationship. It’s like yeah first the coffee and croissants morning while wearing their linen button up shirt in bed is awesome… but what of later when the stale stench of their cigarette smoke lingers in the air while only the sound of their excuses fills your ears? Will you be wishing you decided to nest with that nice boy down the street on American Lane? I dunno, these things are very personal. But you can totes share here! 😉
The box: Really nice! I like that you tie the lid and it sort of reveals itself!
First look! The theme? Celebrating Springtime in Provence
Au Pays De La Fleur D’Oranger – Neroli Blanc Eau de Parfum: This is a fancy brand from a brand that has many ties to the perfume industry. They feature orange blossom notes in many of their scents and so went with that as part of their name. There were choices for this perfume and I am so glad I got the Neroli Blanc because it is their most popular from what I could find, and it has a fresh scent that is a little more heavy then the brighter versions they have. I don’t really dig intense fragrances because… the last think I need is any more intensity ammirite?
It smells beyond good! I am sitting here writing this just sniffing away at myself. Getting my huff on! I feel like this smells so clean, but not overly fruity. Very sophisticated, yet still young and fresh. I can’t wait to smell good in an elevator!
I bet there will be a huge amount of Craiglist Missed Connections talking about the “Woman who smelled divine and who was covered in cat hair”
Sabe Masson – Striptease Flowers: I am a big fan of this perfume brand! I was able to snag one in a Glossybox (Review will pop up if you click) and I loved the artwork and also that the scent was so easy to wear. The woman who started this company has an interesting story that involves Sephora and being all cooler than I am. Actually most successful peoples stories have a lot of stuff in them that basically clues me into how ordinary my life is.
The scent is Striptease Flowers which is sorta a trashy name but then if you are going to watch a striptease you can’t get nicer than having flowers do it! The scent is really light and smells like vanilla without being too sweet. I dig this for a summers day when I want to smell better than the pastry I am eating…
I bet those interesting people still don’t get as many subscriptions as me! Ha!
Seriee Limitee Louise – French Linen Napkins: These are some pretty fancy linen napkins with a really pretty design. They are made from quality material and are meant to match and item that was sent in an earlier parcel. I don’t have the earlier items so I can’t really tell you if it matches or not. However, I did some looking around and found that these are sold for like 25 euro each which is astounding to me.
I think it is because I use paper towels as napkins and consider it a fancy night when we break out the Veeva brand ones. I just can’t see myself sitting and smiling at someone during dinner as they wipe their hands on my super special fancy napkins. Am I alone in this?
I find it a little weird that they sent three of them… One for me, One for my bear, and One for my Bearcat!
Source De Provence – Anti Aging Care: This brand is new and features 99% natural ingredients. They tested these products for five years before releasing them. The curators decided they wanted to pick the anti-aging item because it had such great plumping qualities. I am excited to try this once I open my next night cream!
I can say that my new found youth is 99% natural!
Verdict: I really enjoyed Luxe Provence’s Spring box! I looked up all the products to find their values on various sites and they are indeed luxe. I personally don’t get a ton of value from fancy napkins but they are something one would expect a luxe subscriber to be able to pull of with style. The perfumes are magic! I do think they should have gone with just one perfume because it feels a little scent heavy. I have noticed that around this time of year is when perfumes start getting sold with gusto. It must be the change in seasons that says “Get yourself a new smell!” Still, I think even a candle or other french item might have put this box over the top. Still, I am really surprised that they were able to find such expensive items and include them in the subscription. I think I have found my new French box of choice!

Very beautiful box (and contents)! Yes odd that you received an three napkins but I would use the linen napkins as kitchen towels instead!
Three napkins, c’est tres estrange!
They probably sent three for when you have a menage a trois…..bu dum bum! (and the only reason I knew how to spell that was because I have drank 10,000 bottles of Menage a trois wine!!
