An Excellent Example of Subscripton Box Communication

One of my pet peeves is the lack of communication between owners and subscribers of subscription boxes. I feel that angst expressed on blogs would be reduced by communication. I have found the subscription box community to be an understanding community when delays are explained.

Zelda wondering how many more pictures I am going to take of her.

I have ordered Hero Crate in the past for my older son. My experience with them has been wonderful. I am on their mailing list and received this email tonight. I wish more subscription box owners kept us in the loop as Jacob McShea did here.

I need to read up on the email extractor thingy to make the posts more readable. Sorry, readers.

Do you think subscription box owners should be more transparent? What is your subscription box pet peeve/

Hi Crater,

Jacob McShea, CEO/Co-Founder of HeroCrate here. I’m sorry to inform you that we will not meet the expected ship date of the 25th this month for July’s Crate. This is due to unforeseen circumstance caused by product being held up by customs.

As of right now, all Crates will ship by the 28-29th.

As you might already know, I am a very transparent, hands on owner and I take great pride in what myself, staff, and you as our customer have built here at HeroCrate. Unforeseen circumstances such as this are truly heart breaking as we have all put everything we have into making HeroCrate a wonderful experience.Circumstances such as this one, are what lead us to find new distributors, new shipping companies and ultimately provide us with new avenues of approach to ensure you as a customer are getting the most quality and timely delivery.

I wish I could offer more of an answer but I can only control what I can control. You are the greatest customer in the world and together we have built something unique and fun. I sincerely hope to see you continue with us and appreciate your understanding during this inconvenience.

I am personally making myself available to anyone who has questions, comments or concerns regarding this matter and I can be reached via email here: (redacted)Thank you for being with us and thank you for your patience.

Regards,

Jacob McShea
CEO/Co-Founder

Today is the last day of the meeting and then off to Portland! Great article and thanks for doing so much while I was stuck doing job stuff!

My pet peeve is when places straight lie. I don’t want to hear five different reasons when none are true.

I also, as many know, hate when they package crap from places like Ali express and tell me it’s worth 100x more!

I’m just up here since I spent a week working in Texas. I have s place in the pearl district and use it to vacation in. It just is difficult because I don’t have Internet set up at my place! My laptop is also freaking out so my next review will have to be from a coffee shop lol
