Serendipity by Little Lace Box Subscription Review – January 2016

Since Little Lace Box (LLB) made the change to send out a box every other month it has put many customers on a roller coaster of emotions. The month they get the box they are anxious and excited, then they get the box and they are overjoyed. Then, the lull of the wait during the month that LLB does not ship out a box. All these women are holding on to the knowledge that the next  month they will feel that high once again.

Which brings us to Serendipity, LLB’s answer to the lull month. The cost is $9.99 and includes shipping. Items and themes in the box are still being worked out but that goes with the whole idea of Serendipity anyway right?

serendipity 8

Whoa this came in a big box!

serendipity 9

Sweet!

serendipity 10

Ohhh what could be inside all of this crinkly paper?

serendipity 11

Oh no! Sophia my wee little bearcat has heard me and now I will have to fend her off the box!

serendipity 2

My Cup of Cake – All Natural Classic Belgian Chocolate Mug Cake: I was stoked to see this again! My first time trying this was from a PSMH box. The consensus was that we liked these a lot and that they were easy to make. The chocolate flavor is rich but not overwhelming and it is a super easy treat you can share with someone without much planning at all!

I wonder if they will make mug full course dinners one day?

serendipity 1

Little Lace Box – 13 oz. Enamelware Ceramic Coffee Mug: This is perfect to make the above mug cake! It is made to look like those tin cups people still use for camping. However this is dishwasher safe and keeps food insulated longer. Double win! I think it is totally fine to have it say Little Lace Box on it because it still looks pretty nice and honestly so much of my stuff is not box branded it would almost be weird if I had something that wasn’t!

Because this looks like a tin cup, I can imagine the freak outs I will get when people see me pop this into the microwave… “What? Don’t put metal in the microwave?!? That’s just an old wives tale!” (I will then gleefully press “start” smiling broadly and somewhat dumbly.

serendipity 13

Doxen & Hue – Hand Wash (Blood Orange and Fig): Subscribers were sent out different scents and I would have been happy with any of them! My scent is light and not too fruity. So this shouldn’t offend anyone who makes their way into my place with grubby hands. They say that the Dulce De Leche scent will “make you want to gnaw your hand off.” Sounds like some sort of Fear Factoresque test in the making!

The bottle is HUGE and I will have to make sure to always use it (rather than the other soaps I put out) least people think I don’t use soap to wash my hands… because I totally do you guys… anything said against that is just slander.

Hilda Glasgow — Notecard (Marilyn c. 1958): This note card is so pretty I want to put it up somewhere! I love vintage glamour and while the reality of those times are very different from what the pictures will have you believe I can’t help imagining being always pretty and painted.

I mean even having matching underwear for me is a win in the glamour dept.

serendipity 12

Ellison Organics – Mani Defender: At first I thought I had been sent some pale blue nail color. I was kinda like meh about it because it wouldn’t be my favorite color. All that thinking proved to be totally unnecessary, which is the case in most of the things I think about, as this is not a nail polish at all. It is liquid latex that you can use to help you make designs or to paint around the nail, dry, and then paint the actual nail with your chosen color. The latex once dry can simply be peeled off!

This is probably the closest I will get to experimenting with liquid latex…

serendipity 6

Verdict: This is a great deal once again! All these items are 100% worth the small $10 cost. I can only imagine the cost barely covered the shipping because this box was heavy and the products are substantial. I am really feeling LLB and this Serendipity once again exceeded my expectations! I can’t wait to see what else they will send! Sophia von Bearcat de Coronado 100% loved the box and yet again gives it “all kitty jelly beans up!.”

Disclosure: I bought this box and there are affiliate links in this post!

Whoa. Ten dollars does not even cover shipping! I thought it would just be the mug and chocolate but holy frijoles! I gave my boyfriend a bite of my pb&j the other day then told him it had fig jam [TJs] and he complained I tricked him. I think he secretly liked it because figs are yum.

    • January 18, 2016 at 9:33 pm

It was such a shock! Ummm Fig jam is awesome and I will not listen to anything that says it isn’t.

Loved this box! I received the dulce de leche soap and my goodness it does smell delightful. but I have been able to now gnaw on my hands.

My mani needs to be defended! That is an awesome inclusion to the box now I am going to check that brand out sounds like something I need.

You know a box is probably going to be awesome when it is way heavier than usual. And a second nommy helping of a cake in a cup! This is really an awesome box and I have box envy!

You just want the liquid latex to get wild with Pnut… we know about you! 😉 Seriously though, it was like the old LLB. I think they are fighting the Goat Syndicate with all their might!

Now I’m really confused. I got the Serendipity for the first two months (I believe), and when I stopped receiving them I contacted LLB and they told me it was just a trial thing since they made the change and that if I wanted to continue receiving the Serendipity I would have to purchase it in addition to my year subscription of LLB I had already purchased. Did they just continue giving the Serendipity free to bloggers?

    • February 7, 2016 at 7:30 am

Maybe some bloggers but not me. After the free two months I bought a years subscription. I honestly don’t know if they give out review stuff or not. I did buy my sub when it was on sale though to save money…

      • February 7, 2016 at 7:34 am

Ok, I was just confused because your post said they were still sending them for free, “Those who already have a Little Lace Box subscription are getting Serendipity for free at the moment, but it won’t be a forever thing.” I stopped receiving them a long time ago, but would love to get them. Just can’t afford to add on another subscription right now.

        • February 7, 2016 at 7:36 am

Yeah I fixed it! I copy and paste my intros and didn’t see that! Thanks! Lol I wish I got it free still!!!

    • February 7, 2016 at 7:34 am

Ohhh I see! I made a mistake when I copied and pasted my intro from an older review! I’ll fix it and thanks!!!!

I’m really wanting to sign up for Serendipity Box but they’ve been sold out. Little Lace Box said they were opening up spots in February but I still haven’t seen anything more about it. Do you happen to know when Serendipity goes on sale? Thank you 🙂

    • February 9, 2016 at 12:06 pm

I’m not sure but I will look thru some of my emails to see if they ever said a date!
