Cost: $35.00 (currently $14.99 as of this post). Price jumps up and down it was $19.99 before I bought it for $12.99 with FREE SHIPPING!!!
What is in it: 9 deluxe samples as well as an emergency kit in a silver bag.
Kick Back and Get Comfortable:
Everyone knows here that I am a sucker for good value so when I heard that this bag of goodies was on sale for $12.99 with free ship I jumped on board! I have no issue with this being labelled Prom, in fact, I think half the products were meant for the adults of all ages and the other half for the younger set which works out since I have a couple of girls in that younger set to share with 😉
Here is the what was under all that Macy’s coordinated wrapping!
Flipping it over like a pancake and we have this view. Here are the 9 deluxe sample items snuggled up together!
Below are the deluxe samples up close and personal!!!
Another subscription box favorite, this is the one primer that I always go back to buying full size when I run out of primer (I usually end up gifting or tossing everything else out because nothing compares to this). I suggest you purchase one of the fuller sizes and not the travel size for better value.
This is in a clamshell which is really cute! I can smell the chocolate without opening the seal! This will be put in the gift/goodie pile as I have 2 (two) Too Faced bronzers that smell mouthwatering chocolately goodness from past Sephora Sun Kits.
PSA: I have not heard anything about the 2016 Sephora Sun Kit but check out this blog for the Penneys full spoilers. If you are addicted to buying Sephora Sun Kits you already know that the value has declined over the years. I used to be loyal to purchasing them but based on this year’s JCPenneys, it is not worth it for me.
If you do not have an IPSY subscription, I can see how this small pouch can get you excited to start a small pouch collection. Just kidding. I think. This pouch does not scream emergency pouch. It is an understated silver pouch for someone that likes understatement with a touch of bling in a silver color.
And now are the items inside the “Emergency” kit!
I did put emergency in parentheses as you can see below most of the items are not ones that one actually reaches for in emergencies!
When your cell phone mirror apps and reverse camera features are not enough, this snazzy blinged out mirror will save the day when prom hits. I have to admit the stones look nicely placed and are really sparkly.
As you can see, 3M makes sure that this baby sticks to your cell phone. Macy’s went all out with this cell phone mirror! I am actually thinking of applying this to my cell phone!
Like when is it an emergency like when you need to put your hair back with a headband and then secure that prom hair with a coordinating ponytail after you paid mad money to get your hair done!?!
Can I cover a zit with these silver tattoos?
Funny sarcasm aside, this nail decals are pretty cute for my wee Pnut people’s big toes. The fairies recently delivered these nail decals check out my fairy door series here! I applied a nail decal on my nail to prove to one of my Pnut people that these really do go on nails and not in a sticker book (or the walls, floors, etc.)!
Because nothing says college-ready like putting on girly nail decals IN AN EMERGENCY.
Because you need to coordinate your emergency nail decals with a coordinating nail file.
Here is the other side which I like to call the after-prom side.
Ok these are useful but more of an post-prom or I guess the “I hate makeup and/or nail polish and I need to take this off as soon as Prom is over IT IS AN EMERGENCY!”
Ok I believe this is the ONLY item that warrants to be in an emergency Prom kit!!!
Verdict: Everything was worth $12.99 to me! I would hardly call the emergency kit an emergency kit that is laughable. Macy’s marketing would have better left it at Prom Set at a minimum and called it a day! Some items will go to my stash, others to my goodie giveaway pile, and some to my Pnut people for fairy door gifts!
Disclaimer: I bought this with my own clams. There are affiliate links to this post.
I had no idea this set existed! But it’s now been ordered and paid for! Thank you. I have an 11 year old granddaughter who will think that “emergency set” is too cool. It’s will be put up for her next birthday!
You are welcome Susie! I am sure she will love it. The nail decal stickers are really good quality so I am really impressed the one on my ring finger is amazingly staying put unlike the ones of my youth.
I am in love with my JuJuBe diaper bags because they are machine washable and have great organization. When I will be done I am going to need one of those large internal organization pouches to compensate! I had a mom’s purse before I became a mom. I.need.everything.

Where’s the tampon?? Or am I the only one who thought that? In which case sorry?
That’s starting a slippery slope from an overpacker of diaper bags for emergencies of almost any kind!
Lol… I do not miss the diaper bags at all… Although my purse is big enough to be one and prolly has as much stuff in it
