Saturday Empties Extravaganza 12/5/15

Here’s my empties including Blue Apron, Ojai Valley Olive oil, and information card about Ethiopian coffee from Blue bottle. The non food items are Nyl scrub, foil of BB cream from Sephora, D’fluff shaving soap,  and Rosy cheeks face mask from Lush. I liked all these beauty goodies except face mask, which made me break out.

Sub Bella – Yuck on the mask breaking out. Double yuck that it is called Rosy cheeks!

Here are Heat7918’s empties!

 

Throwing out a couple more mascaras that have been open for more than 3 months: W3ll People Expressionist Mascara is not for me… if you like a more subtle, natural looking lash, you might like this but I like my lashes long, dark & dramatic! (It’s the only place in my life that I want drama besides going to the theatre). Urban Decay Perversion mascara is much more my style – it was a free gift from Ulta for my birthday and I would consider buying the full size if I ever run out of mascara… ha!

L’Oreal Age Perfect Glow Renewal Facial Oil – this foil packet was from a Target box and I really liked it! There wasn’t much in there but I managed to get a few uses out of it anyway. I like that it says WHEN in your routine to use it (before your moisturizer) and I just really like how it made my skin feel soft and hydrated. (Are you sensing theme here with me and hydration / moisturization?)

skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels – these were my 2nd pair and they felt nice. I don’t really get puffy under my eyes and I think that’s where a lot of people see an immediate difference. My worry is “crow’s feet” and I’m not sure I saw a difference, but I try not to look too closely at my fine lines – I’m in denial! I wonder if I used them regularly, would they make a difference over time?

Acure Facial Toner, balancing rose + red tea – from the Acure Goddess box, this toner is nice but not hydrating enough for winter for my dry skin!

Benton Snail Bee Essence – I’m new to essences (this was my first) and I like the added layer of moisturization. I’ve actually ordered a different one to try for winter – both essences were recommended by Sarah at Bits & Boxes (my Kbeauty mentor) and purchased on Amazon.

Real Chemistry Luminous 3-minute peel from Birchbox – I have a few of these (multiple subs at one point!) and it seems to do an okay job.

Sudsy & Co. Eucalyptus Lavender Silk Bar – the 2nd half of this bar is almost finished. It feels nice on my skin and I like it but I don’t love it as much as Sub Bella does! Mainly because I prefer minty scents so the Morning Mist is my favorite so far. (I have 2 new ones to try that I ordered on Black Friday – they are not minty because I want to try new things!)

Julep One-Step Polish Remover Pad – I won’t keep sharing these foils every time I use them, but I LOVE them over the hassle of cotton balls and liquid remover. (The Cutex ones are good too!)

Replenix Neckletage from BeautyFix – yes, I used this on my neck and décolletage… and I liked it. Probably wouldn’t pay for a full size – I’m just assuming it’s kind of expensive.

Paula’s Choice RESIST Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum – this is the little blue tube that I cut half of the name off of… I got it in the Birchbox “all serums” box. I saw it was for oily skin and decided to use it up while the weather was still warmer here – rather than wait for next spring/summer since I knew it wouldn’t be hydrating enough for me in winter. It was okay but keep in mind that my skin isn’t oily… obviously.

Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre – I think this was from BeautyFix… it’s a moisturizer – soaks in well, no smell, it’s good. I need a heavier cream at night for winter.

Phew! I think that’s it – I’m happy I can throw these out now. Oh, and in case you’re wondering if I’ve been keeping to my 1 mask per week. Yes, I have – but they weren’t sheet masks these last 2 weeks. Instead I’ve used a couple masks that are multiple use from tubes / jars so they’re not empty and I can’t show you!! 🙂

Sub Bella – I need a good décolletage cream! Mint soaps are amazing! Way to go with the masks!

It was a good week! I finished a few full-size products. I see a few favorites in my empties!

 

Style Me Hair Oil Full Size Full-Size: The hair oil works well in my hair. I did notice I had to use more oil than the No Frizz Hair Oil. It makes sense because the No Frizz Hair is formulate for thicker, wavier hair. The Style Me Hair Oil is formulated for all hair types. I purchased the Style me Hair Oil in September. It took me awhile to work through it because I also finished two travel-sizes Balanced Guru Hair Oils during that same time period.

Seva Amazon Rainforest Body Oil Full-Size: The Seva Amazon Rainforest Body Oil is a special edition of the Soothe Me Slowly Body Oil. I received the body oil in the Yogi Surprise One Year Anniversary Box. I liked it a lot. My skin had no problems absorbing it.

I know, people want to know do I like it better than the Earthbody Dream Oil? Earthbody changed its name to Om Cali Sacred Skincare. I do like the Dream Body Oil a smidgen better than the Soothe Me Slowly Body Oil.  Either body oil feels wonderful!

Scrub Me Nice and Dirty Full-Size: Subscriptionista kindly sent me her full-size scrub from the August Organic Authority Box! The Scrub Me Scrub is my favorite scrub. It has an amazing blend of coffee and spearmint. The main house has excellent water pressure making this scrub a no-mess scrub for me. I could never use it at the farmhouse. It has low water pressure. I should have ordered two body scrubs instead of one with my Black Friday Order.

 

Acure Repairing Conditioner Full-Size: I last received the travel-size Acure Conditioner in the second October Target Beauty Box. I decided it was time to try the full-size conditioner. My hair loves it! I’ve discovered my hair really loves argan oil.

 

Hylunia Facial Day Lotion: I received the Facial Day Lotion in the Vegan Cuts Facial Box. I love the Hylunia products. I’m finishing up my third travel set and feel comfortable about purchasing the full-size products.  The Day Lotion is light-weight and doesn’t bother my rosacea.

 

Athara Moroccan Eye Cream Full-Size: I received the eye cream in the May Vegan Cuts Beauty Box. The scent is a subtle coffee scent. The lotion is light and fluffy. I can pronounce all the ingredients. Most of the ingredients are organic. I feel comfortable using they eye cream around my eyes even though I am paranoid about eye products due to my eye disease.  The caffeine helps plump up the fine wrinkles around the eye. I plan to order it at some point.  Athara has a pop-up window that allows you to give them your email in exchange for a 20% off coupon. The eye cream is $24.95. I do not know how much shipping costs. Fig & Yarrow Hand + Body Wash Juniper + Sage Full-Size: The delightful woodsy scent, as described by Fig & Yarrow, made an appearance in my July Burke Decor Cool and Fresh Spa Box.. I ended up using it as a hand soap because the scent was a little too woodsy for me as a body wash. I’m the only person in my family that liked the scent.

Burke Decor has discontinued its monthly boxes by changing its subscription box model. It’s not live yet, but my understanding is that you will see the items in the box prior to ordering. Check the BurkeBox page for more information. I don’t think they will be delivering my spa box full of cucumber and mint products by using a unicorn pulling an emerald-encrusted chariot.

 

Do empty containers motivate you? I need to check my dresser for half empties and finish them!

 

Sorry. My little guy is being needy tonight.I hope he is not coming down with anything. I’ll update tomorrow with commentary. Thank you for waiting! Turns out J was a little sad that he was not participating in the Christmas play today. He didn’t want to because at the time of tryouts he had a loose tooth. Now he is one of the many children who all they want for Christmas is their two front teeth. We watched the play this morning. I asked him how he felt about it. He’s glad he didn’t participate this year because he doesn’t want to show his missing teeth! The worries of a seven year old!
