Target Beauty Box Review – November 2017

Box: November 2017 Target Beauty Box (Still for sale!)

Cost: $7 clams

What You’re Getting: Random (spoiled/revealed items) usually dished out early in the wee hours of the first Monday of the month.

It’s early in the morning and I totally read “spoiled” the wrong way.

I digress, November 2017’s box gives us:

Dove Dermacare 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Facial Cleanser

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

MISSHA Snail Hydro-Gel Mask

Tom’s of Maine Creamy Coconut Bar Soap

Skinfix Ultra Rich Hand Cream

and a $3 off $15 beauty purchase code/coupon that I forget to use at times.

Relax and Sit Back:

I got this for mainly for the the snail sheet mask. I never tried snail.

That’s what she said.

I think reviewing Mailbox Junkie/And The Color Green’s subscription box, Face Alchemy, got me in a masking mood (see my review here). I do not recall whether the bunch of sheet masks in my refrigerator had snail mucus but of course I see this for sale and plunk down 7 clams for it.

Why did I have Target save my credit card info. So easy to buy stuff on a whim. Grrrrr….

The rest I planned on using or as stocking stuffers. It has been awhile since I actually had bought a Target Beauty Box. I really prefer the Baby Boxes (they are more crunchy for the most part).

I had premeditated this purchase. And I am reading “crunchy” the wrong way. Why am I wanting spoiled crunchy stuff? Surely spoiled crunchy stuff is not a nom.

Target Beauty Box Review – November 2017

And did I forget to mention the actual box? I was so happy to find that this delivery box was not crushed. All one needs to do is Modge Podge something on the top of the box covering the Target label (I actually use PopSugar’s theme insert at times since the themes are vague and welcoming) and voila! Gift/Treat box created!

I get crushed when my Target boxes arrived crushed.

Dove Dermacare 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner

Dove Dermacare 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner

I am pretty sure that you (stalkers) might know this but I keep a bunch of new shampoo samples. Most of the time when I use a shampoo for the first time, it makes my hair feel and look fabulous. However, its only for the first time.

My hair is a repeat born again virgin.

Unfortunately, this did not do it for me. It did not give me the squeaky feeling that I desired. I felt like my hair was coated in conditioner but it washed out  like a shampoo. Usually Shampoo and Conditioner (to me) should feel like a shampoo that leaves you hair soft versus. It smelled nice.

But it did not smell like a “Dove” [product]. If you were seeking out to smell like a “Dove” [product].

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Facial Cleanser

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Facial Cleanser

Short of being a French product, this is being a stocking stuffer. I am pretty sure I sampled this.

Just a nice (affordable) French cleanser.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

A classic. Stocking stuffer for a tween/teen. I am sad that they changed the packaging but the iconic colors are still there.

In my opinion, the best drugstore mascara is Loreal Voluminous!

MISSHA Snail Hydro-Gel Mask

MISSHA Snail Hydro-Gel Mask

Besides the fact that I was drawn to breaking my Snail mucus cherry, this was an Hydro-Gel mask. Hydro-Gel masks are one of the better forms of sheet mask because they help the serumy/essence goodness penetrate your skin.

Hydro-Gels also have an awesome cooling feeling. Not tingly. Just cooling. Like you will be “cool”.

So I like this. It is a two-piece mask and I think besides looking scarier than a one-piece it feels more comfortable to have it sit on my face. The mask had front and back coverings in that is a detail you dig. I did some online research whilst masking and I found this gem that to reverse the sheet mask mid-treatment so you get the “refreshed” application feeling.

So now I am going to sort through my stash accordingly using the good stuff first!

The snail mucus did not feel “mucusy” after I took off the mask and I did not mind patting the essence in. I used the package essence and squished the used mask to my neck and any parched areas. It just got freakin cold in Chicago and we had our first snowfall recently.

Now if this mucus looked like mucus this review would have gone a total different direction!

Tom’s of Maine Creamy Coconut Bar Soap

Tom’s of Maine Creamy Coconut Bar Soap

Stocking stuffer for someone crunchy.

Note the bar soap is creamy not actually crunchy.

Skinfix Ultra Rich Hand Cream

Skinfix Ultra Rich Hand Cream

I had plans to make this part of my collection but it will be a stocking stuffer. This reminds me of LUSH products as a brand that tries to be “crunchy” but when you read the ingredients its not as crunchy as you thought it was. In case you were wondering, the second ingredient is petrolatum.

Target Beauty Box Review – November 2017

7 clams suited my purpose for purchasing this box. If it goes down to 5 clams (which it might since it is still not sold out), however, I would be pissed but maybe I would get another for the mask.

I like the snail mask. I like to purchase the snail mask on sale.

I should really dig into my sheet mask stash….

Have you ever bought a box because the item you wanted basically came with bonuses?

I love the Skinfix lotion; I think I got a full size from the Target toilet paper box (seriously one of their BEST boxes). Great Lash is my favorite mascara. It doesn’t clump and comes off easily. Also I like the light, crispy formula for picking off later, because some of these fancy brands are soft all day.

Oh I so wanted that TP box its so ridic funny. The one that got away….

Hahaha the crispies! I will have to make a mention of that feature the next time I discover it in a mascara for you! I think Maybelline’s clear mascara gives the crunchies if I recall. I used to use that before I got stocked up on subscription eyebrow mascaras.

I would love it if Target did another TP box! I love sub boxes that are useful.
